Flow rate

Flow rate is described as volume of water passing through a given spatial area over a certain period of time. The area might be the cross-section of the river bed or the pore space of a soil or a sediment.

\LARGE Q=v_{w}\times A

Q = flow rate (m3/s)

vw = flow velocity (m/s)

A = cross-sectional area (m2)
