Nathaniel Clark is a PhD student at University of Plymouth and within NanoFASE he is involved in WP9.

"For NanoFASE WP9, I am investigating the bioaccumulation potential and food chain transfer of nanomaterials in fish. The aim of my work is to assess whether nanomaterials are bioavailable through the gut of fish, initially using ex vivo techniques (gut sac and perfused intestines), followed by in vitro validation using dietary exposures in fish. Should the nanomaterials pass the gut epithelium, our aim is to find where they end up in the body." Nathaniel is highly experienced with acquatic life – as a previous job had him interacting and diving with sharks daily.
