Andrea Brunelli, University of Venice, is mainly involved in WP8 within NanoFASE.
At UniVE Andrea Brunelli investigates environmental behaviour – especially transformation processes - of some ENMs in fresh waters.
"We're looking at the stability of CuO nanoparticles (NPs) in two different artificial waters, which mainly differ in ionic strength, by determining particle size distribution, surface charge and sedimentation rate of NPs. Dynamic and Electrophoretic Light Scattering (DLS and ELS), as well as Centrifugal Separation Analysis (CSA) were the techniques employed for this purpose. This approach will be applied and extended within the NanoFASE project, focusing on the potential transformations that can occur to NPs dispersed in relevant environmental media, especially in freshwater."
